Temperature set to rise in Odisha after May 2, Nor’wester till Friday

Day temperature would rise in most parts of Odisha after May 2, the weatherman has said.

As per regional meteorological office here, the maximum day temperature in most parts of the state would breach the 40 degree Celsius mark and heat wave conditions would prevail from Saturday.

North, south, coastal and interior parts of the state  would witness Nor’westers today. Besides, there would be thunderstorm and hailstorm, accompanied by gusty surface wind reaching up to 70-80 kmph, in these areas.

The weatherman have cautioned the fishermen not to venture into the sea in view of the rough weather.

Some parts of coastal Odisha will receive rainfall on Friday as well.  Despite this, temperature is set to rise from Saturday, the MeT office said.

A trough line was moving in the easterly direction over the state following which the temperature across Odisha witnessed a downfall. As the trough line will weaken in the next couple of days, the temperature will shoot from Saturday, sources said.
