Temporary ponds to come up in Odisha Capital for Durga idol immersion

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to prevent pollution of water bodies in the Odisha Capital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been constructing four temporary ponds for immersion of idols after the Durga Puja.

An official of the BMC said two temporary ponds will be set up on the banks of Kuakhai river whereas another one will come up on the banks of Daya river. One more temporary pond will be constructed at Bankuala.

The festive season has been dampened in the Odisha Capital amid the Covid pandemic. But still people were seen visiting at some pandals while wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
