Tension erupts as man enters Strong Room at BJB College in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A day before the counting of votes for Odisha Urban Polls, tension ran high at the BJB College here as a man allegedly entered the Strong Room where EVMs have been kept at the educational institution, this evening.

As per allegation, the accused entered the strong room carrying an ID card. He was later nabbed by BJP workers and handed over to police.

However, those present at the spot attacked the man, leaving him critically injured.

As police tried to rescue him, a scuffle ensued between the cops and the people. Police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse them.

Airfield police station IIC also sustained injuries during the incident.

Levelling serious allegation of EVM tampering, locals claimed that monitoring through CCTV camera was not being done properly at the Strong Room.

Police have been deployed at the spot at avoid any further untoward incident.
