Bhubaneswar: The authorities of MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Berhampur city have conducted a probe into the alleged theft of medicines and injections from the premier health institute.
A committee led by MKGG Registrar Sangram Panda conducted the probe and submitted its report to the hospital superintendent, sources said.
Baidyanathpur police in Berhampur are also probing the theft case simultaneously.
The MKCG Outpost police had seized a bag containing at least 25 packets of antibiotic injections worth around Rs 1.5 lakh from an old building near the childcare ward of the hospital on July 6.
The police had searched the building to recover stolen goods after they arrested a person on charges of stealing mobile phones in the locality, sources said.
The police later came to know that authorities of MKCG had purchased the antibiotic injections from a private agency.
The superintendent of the hospital had lodged a complaint in this regard with Baidyanathpur police. The hospital authorities also launched a departmental probe into the incident.
