These stations in Odisha breach 40 mark as mercury soars

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is sizzling with the six stations touching the 40 degree Celsius mark today, according to the weather bulletin of the Met Centre, today.

Talcher recorded the maximum temperature at 41.2 degree Celsius followed by Sonepur at 40.4 and Jharsuguda at 40.2.

Similarly, the mercury soared to 40 degree Celsius in Sundergarh, Bolangir and Malkangiri, while Gopalpur, Titlagarh, Angul and Sambalpur tethered at the 39 degree Celsius mark.

Though the above mentioned stations are experiencing effects of heat wave, other parts of the state, namely in Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Kalahandi experienced thunderstorm with lightning and light rainfall.
