These train services affected due to Odisha Bandh

Bhubaneswar: The six-hour shutdown by Odisha Congress today partially affected train services, besides road traffic in the state.

Due to the bandh, few trains were controlled at different stations for a few minutes, said East Coast Railway (ECoR) in an official statement.

“As part of the Bharat Bandh, protests were staged at Talcher railway station from 6 AM up to 1 PM, from 7 AM to 7.55 AM at Bhubaneswar railway station, from 7.30 AM to 8.20 AM at Dhenkanal, from 8.50 AM to 8.55 AM at Chhatrapur and from 10.50 AM to 11.15 AM at Puri railway station,” the statement said.

Services of the following trains were affected during the Bharat Bandh:

  • 2880 Bhubaneswar-LTT Special was detained at Bhubaneswar railway station from 7.20  AM to 8 AM
  • 08493 Bhubaneswar-Balangir Special was detained at Dhenkanal from 7.48 AM to 8.20 AM
  • 08448 Koraput-Bhubaneswar Special was detained at Dhenkanal from 7.47 AM to 8.20 AM
  • 02815 Puri-Anand Vihar Special left Puri at 11.20 AM instead of its scheduled time at 11 AM

Protesting against the steep rise in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG gas, Odisha Congress today observed bandh from 7AM till 1 PM. Vehicular movement was affected while shops and other business establishments remained closed due to the shutdown. Petrol pumps across the state also suspended their operations.
