This area in Bhubaneswar declared COVID-19 containment zone

Bhubaneswar: Following several positive cases of COVID-19 detected recently from Dumduma area in Bhubaneswar, the authorities declared a few parts of the locality as the containment zone.

By the order of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury, the containment restrictions have been enforced in following areas in Dumduma.

  • Hanuman Mandir near NH-5 to intersection of Plot No. 373 and 323 in Dumduma via Shani Temple.
  • Intersection of Plot No. 373 and 323 in Dumduma to intersection of Plot No. 261 and 258.
  • Intersection of Plot No. 261 and 258 to Hanuman Temple near NH-5 via Shanti Temple and Dinabandhu Fair price shop.

As per the containment guidelines, no public will be allowed to move into containment zone and inhabitants within the containment zone will not move out. All the residents under containment zone will have to stay in their houses. The shopping establishments will remain closed. However, the supply of essential and medical requirements will only be ensured through various teams formed by the BMC.

All the government and private institutions within the boundary of containment zone will remain closed.

The move came after several positive cases were reported from Subash Nagar slum with no travel history to contain possible spread of deadly virus in Dumduma.
