Cuttack: The local administration in Nischintakoili block of Cuttack district decided to seal the block office after its 17 employees tested positive for deadly COVID-19. This was informed by Nischintakoili BDO Karnadev Samaddar today.

The block office employees who tested positive have been asked to remain in home isolation, the BDO said. Also, seven other persons who visited the Nischintakoili block office contracted the virus.

Official sources said as many as 125 persons from Cuttack district today tested positive for the virus infection.

Till yet, a total of 1,698 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Cuttack district. The number of active cases stands at 530 whereas the recovery count in the district is at 1,147.

A total of nine persons succumbed to the disease in the district whereas three others died after their recovery from the infection.
