This Odisha District asks plants to restrict movement of staffs from other States

Angul: Following a spurt in COVID-19 cases, the Angul district administration today directed the industrial plants in the district to restrict the movement of their employees and other persons coming from other States.

In a letter, Angul District Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty asked the plants to keep a limit on the movement of their employees and other persons in the plant area and township from other States. Otherwise, the administration will be forced to declare a complete shutdown in plant areas in the greater interest of public health, it read.

It has been observed that employees/ business executives are visiting different plants very often and some of them are even from COVID hot spots. Some COVID positive cases have also been detected from the employees of the industrial houses coming from other states, the letter said.

So far, a total 69 persons in Angul district have tested positive for the deadly virus.
