Nuapada: In the last couple of months, people have been facing the brunt of coronavirus outbreak. There has been 2 deaths and at least 180 positive cases in Odisha.
Many health workers, doctors, police, sanitation workers, anganwadi workers and ASHA workers are working on the frontline to contain the virus. These corona warriors are working tirelessly to save the patients while putting their own lives at risk.
In this battle against coronavirus pandemic, a corona warrior from Odisha’s Nuapada district has led from the front. Lopamudra Rath, a microbiologist working at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) has so far collected as many as 176 swab samples from suspected persons in five blocks and sent those to Bhubaneswar for testing.
Collecting samples from such persons is quite a risky job and there are chances of getting affected by the deadly virus Covid-19 if carefulness is not maintained while doing so.
The sample collection team was led by health officer P.KB. Pattnaik along with 75 staff nurses and 10 lab technicians.
Lopamudra’s courageous act is certainly exemplary for other health workers. She has earned accolades from various quarters for her service.
