This wedding dress wins internet. Here’s why

Bhubaneswar/London: Shortly after Britain eased lockdown restrictions in the country on the occasion of Freedom Day, a London-based website Hitched introduced a wedding dress that was made from as many as 1,500 upcycled facemasks.

The wedding planner website shared  photographs of the dress on its Instagram profile demonstrating, “Introducing the UK’s first wedding dress made of face masks! With more than 100 million single-use surgical masks thrown away in the UK this week and guidance changing on wearing them today, we worked with @tom_silverwood_design and upcycled 1,500 masks into a wedding dress.”

Further, Tom Silverwood whom Hitched UK gave shoutouts for collaborating, also shared the photographs of the dress and wrote, “Super proud of this dress I designed and made in collaboration with @hitcheduk! We upcycled 1500 face masks into this beautiful wedding dress to celebrate ‘freedom day’ on July 19th in the UK as lockdown eases.”

The stunning piece of work was worn by model Jemima Hambro. In the photographs, she was seen posing near St.Paul’s Cathedral in London.

Sarah Allard, editor of Hitched told media that they’re overjoyed on the return of weddings in England without legal restrictions.

The website further added that the creation of the face mask wedding dress was their small gesture to bring smiles in people’s faces and fill them with hopes that they could now celebrate with their loved ones.

Hitched UK’s facemask wedding dress stunned netizens. While one user complimented the creation as a “masterpiece”, another wrote, “What a phenomenal concept!” Another user commented, “Fun idea, although I can’t help but wonder if the masks couldn’t have been donated to healthcare providers instead.”
