Police have arrested three persons for allegedly gang raping a minor girl in Baliguda in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

Baliguda police have arrested two youths and the driver of a car allegedly used in the crime.

“Basing on the minor’s statement we have arrested the three accused persons and have seized an Indigo car and a Pulsar motorcycle from their possession. We suspect that the seized Indigo car was used in the crime,” told Kandhamal SP Pinak Mishra to reporters.

Reportedly, a minor girl who was returning to her home under Baliguda police limits after visiting a neighbour’s place was kidnapped by two youths of the same village in a car.

The miscreants after gang raping the victim had dumped her near a stream before fleeing the spot.

She was rescued by villagers in the morning following which her parents have registered a complaint with the police.
