Three die of dengue in Odisha: Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 1,186 patients tested positive for dengue and three have died of the disease so far in Odisha, informed Health & Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena here today.

Five medical camps have been set up in Kalahandi, which registers the highest number of dengue patients in Odisha.

The efforts are on to create awareness among people in the district to check the spread of mosquito-borne disease, said Jena.

He said that the dengue ward will be opened in 30 district headquarters hospitals for free treatment of the patients.

Notably, out of 218 blood samples examined in the lab, 44 patients tested positive for dengue in Kalahandi district so far.

The number of dengue cases is expected to rise further in the tribal district.
