3 drown in separate incidents in Odisha

Three persons drowned in Odisha today in two separate incidents .

Two sisters drowned in the river Brahmani at the bathing ghat at Rengali bazaar near Pallahara in Angul district this afternoon. They had gone to take a bath in the river when the tragic incident took place, reports said.

In another incident, a fisherman was drowned and another has gone missing in the sea near Gopalpur in Ganjam district early morning today while they had gone for fishing, police said.

Seven fishermen had gone to the high seas for fishing on two boats which capsized after being hit by a powerful tidal wave.

While five of them managed to save their lives by swimming ashore, the body of one fisherman has been fished out. Another fisheman is still missing, police said.
