Three Maoist impostors held in Odisha

Three persons who were arrested by the police on Sunday on the charge of collecting extortion money from the local businessmen by identifying themselves as Maoists, were remanded to judicial custody after the local court rejected their bail petitions today.

impostersBriefing newsman here, Rayagada SDPO Y Jagannath Rao said the three arrested persons, identified as Sanjit Bachili, Pabitra Bachili and Kishore Kandhagiri of Mahadev Kakili village under Seshakhal police station limits, were collecting money from some local businessmen by threatening them through their mobile phones and identifying themselves as Maoists.

“Following a complaint lodged by Chitrasena Sahu, a dealer of Britannia Biscuits, that the trio have demanded extortion money of Rs 1 lakh, the police tracked their mobile phones and later arrested them from Pitamahal village,” Rao said.
