Three killed in Odisha as pick up van rams into police vehicle

Three persons were killed in a tragic road mishap at Jaraka in Odisha’s Jajpur district late on Monday night.

The accident occurred near the bridge on river Brahmani in Jaraka when a pick up van (Tata Ace) heading towards Bhadrak had a head-on collision with a police van coming from the opposite side, eyewitness accounts said.

Reports said the driver of the pick-up van was burnt alive inside the ill fated pick up van as it caught fire under the impact of the collision.

The other two passengers who were inside the van and were rescued in serious condition were rushed to the government hospital at Dharmashala.

While one of them died at the Dharmashala hospital, the other succumbed to his injuries on his way to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack.

The identities of those killed in the accident are yet to be ascertained.

Police investigations are on.
