Odisha man jumps before moving train along with kids

Koraput: In a shocking incident, three members of a family died as a man pushed his minor son and daughter before a moving freight train and then jumped in front of it near Singaram station under Laxmipur police limits in Odisha’s Koraput district today, an eyewitnesses said.

The deceased have been identified as Keshav Subudhi (45) of Podapodi village, his son, and daughter.

According to reports, the three had gone to the station after vehicle puja on the occasion of Dussehra. As per the eyewitness, the trio was standing near the railway track after parking the motorcycle near the station. As the train approached, the man initially pushed his son before the train and later did the same with his daughter. Eventually, he jumped in front of the train.

All of them died on the spot. Though the reason behind the extreme step by the man was yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he committed the act over family dispute.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) have recovered the bodies for post-mortem and started an investigation.
