In a tragic incident, three persons were killed when the motorbike in which they were astride rammed into a tree on the road side at Harishankar chhak in Khaprakhol block in Odisha’s Bolangir district today.

The deceased have been identified as Rameshwar Sahu, Debendra Sahu and Bhakta Gahir of Kendudar village in Paikamal block of Bargarh district, police sources said.

While Rameshwar died on the spot after the bike hit the tree on losing balance, Debendra and Bhakta succumbed on the way to Patnagarh Sub Divisional hospital, police sources revealed.

The mishap occurred while they were returning home after having a picnic at Harishankar.

Police have seized the bodies and have sent them for post-mortem.
