Three-year-old dies after falling into well in Odisha’s Angul

­Angul: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy died after falling into a well in Taleipathar village under Thakurgarh police limits of Angul district today afternoon. The deceased was identified as Chittaranjan and son of one Gokula Nayak.

While playing in the backyard of his house, Chittaranjan fell accidentally into the well. Chittaranjan’s father works as a daily wage labourer and was away from home when the incident occurred. The infant’s mother said she was busy in household chores when her child was playing near the well.

After being unable to find Chittaranjan for long hours, his mother made a frantic search for him. Later she spotted him floating in the well.

Police reached the spot and took the child to the Athamallik Community Health Centre where doctors declared him dead. After post mortem of the child, police handed over the body to his family members and registered an unnatural death case.
