Three youths held for gangraping minor girl in Odisha

Baripada: The police today arrested three youths on charges of gangraping a minor girl in Baripada town area of Mayurbhanj district.

As per the complaint, one of the accused, SK Shafiq alias Saphua of Kalu village is known to the 15-year-old girl. Yesterday evening Shafiq asked the girl to bring petrol. After she brought petrol, Shafiq took her to a garage. In association with two accomplices, Shafiq raped the minor girl at the garage, the complaint mentioned.

When the trio went outside the garage at around 3 am, the minor girl managed to escape. She informed her family members and later lodged a police complaint at the Baripada Town police station.

Apart from Shafiq, the police arrested Rabindra Das of Jirida village under Udala police limits and Niaju of Sunagadia on basis of the complaint.
