Thunderstorm alert for Odisha during next 3 days

Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha may experience thunderstorm during next three days, predicted Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre today.

The weather scientists issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for many districts till October 7 morning.

As many as 19 districts are likely to witness thundershower today till tomorrow morning.

Day 1 (valid from Oct 4 afternoon upto Oct 5 morning)

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack,
Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Angul and Dhenkanal.

Day 2 (valid from Oct 5 morning upto Oct 6 morning)

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak

Day 3 (valid from Oct 6 morning upto Oct 7 morning)

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur.

In Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city, the weather may be partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm during next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the conditions continue to remain favourable for commencement of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some parts of Northwest India around October 6, 2021.

Light to Moderate rain/ thundershower has occurred at a few places over the districts of Odisha with Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh and Malkangiri in last 24 hours.
