Thunderstorm alert issued for 16 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued thunderstorm warning for as many as 16 districts of Odisha today.

“Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur,” the Meteorological Centre forecasted.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha, it said.

Temperature Forecast: No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 3-4 days and gradually rise by 2-3 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
