Thunderstorm and lightning to lash 10 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: As heatwave sweeps across Odisha shooting up the temperature to over 40 degrees Celsius in 14 places in Odisha, the coastal part of the state has been given warnings of impending thunderstorm by weathermen today.

Moderate thunderstorm and lightning is likely in parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada as per the latest weather forecast.

Such weather conditions will also be accompanied by light rainfall and wind gusting at 40 kmph.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here predicted thunderstorm in these areas between 8:30 pm and 11: 30 pm today.

Some areas of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Koraput and Rayagada were issued such alerts by the Met Department earlier this evening.
