Bhubaneswar: In view of thunderstorm and dense fog forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha Government issued advisory to collectors asking to monitor the situation in their districts.
“The situation may be closely monitored and appropriate steps taken to face any eventuality,” the SRC said in a release.
The SRC asked the administrative officials to regulate vehicular traffic on the highways to prevent any road mishap during dense fog.
“During dense fog, movement of vehicles on highways may be regulated with help of police and transport officials to prevent any road accident,” the release stated.
The collectors were asked to report to the state emergency operation centre immediately if any disaster or incident takes place due to rainfall and dense fog.
Worth mentioning, the IMD has predicted thunderstorm and dense fog at isolated places over many districts of Odisha during the period from Feb 6 to 10.
