Thunderstorm, hail alert for these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, issued thunderstorm and hail alert for several districts today.

As many as 18 districts including Khordha and Cuttack may witness thunderstorm and hail today and such activity may last till tomorrow morning.

According to Bhubaneswar MeT, Thunderstorm with lightning with hail and heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Boudh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Angul between today and tomorrow.

The thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Sonepur and Sambalpur during the period.

Moreover, thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of costal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput between January 14 and 15.

Also, light to moderate rain or thundershower are in the forecast at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati and Ganjam, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha between January 15 and 16.

As per MeT bulletin, there is no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 2 days. The mercury will fall gradually by 2-3 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
