Thunderstorm, hail forecast in 10 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind reaching 50 to 60 KMPH is likely to occur in 10 districts of Odisha today between 4 PM to 9.30 PM, according to a forecast by the regional meteorological centre here.

The districts likely to be affected are Koraput, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Ganjam  and Kandhamal.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 KMPH likely to occur over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Ganjam  and Kandhamal between 4 PM and 9.30 PM,” a bulletin issued by the regional meteorological centre said.
