Thunderstorm, hail likely in 11 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph is likely to occur in 11 districts of Odisha between 5 pm to 7 pm today.

The districts that are likely to be affected are Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Sonepur and Boudh.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompinied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Sonepur and Boudh, between 5 pm to 7 pm,” said a bulletin issued by the local meteorological centre here.
