Thunderstorm, heavy rainfall likely in 22 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre today issued thunderstorm and heavy rainfall warning for 22 districts for today.

“Moderate thunderstorm with lightning and intense spells of rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khordha, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Sundergarh, Baragarh, Jharsuguda, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada and Balangir,” the Bhubaneswar MeT said in a bulletin.

Southwest Monsoon withdraws completely from Odisha

Such condition is likely to continue from 9.15 am till 12.15 pm.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has touched the southern part of Odisha yesterday. Under influence of the seasonal wind, several places including the south and coastal regions of the state may experience heavy rainfall. The monsoon is likely to cover entire state in the next few hours.
