Thunderstorm, lightning alert for 5 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here has issued thunderstorm alert for five districts across the State today.

As per a latest bulletin issued by the MeT centre, thunderstorm accompanied with light rainfall and gusty wind with speed reaching 30 to 40 kilometre per hour likely to occur at one or two places over districts like Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar till 7 PM today.

Meanwhile, the heat wave conditions continued to sweep several parts of the State today.

On Monday, the mercury crossed 40 degree Celsius at 12 stations with Talcher recording the highest temperature of 43.8 degree Celsius followed by Angul and Titilagarh with 43.7 and 43 degree Celsius, respectively.
