Bhubaneswar: With a cyclonic circulation lying over east Jharkhand and neighbourhood, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH and heavy rainfall are very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha on May 14, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed marked fall at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, appreciable fall at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No large change in Maximum (day) temperature during next three days and rise by 2°C to 4°C at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 41.4°C was recorded yesterday at Boudh. The lowest minimum temperature of 17.0°C was recorded at Angul in the plains of Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.
