Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre here has issued a warning of likelihood of thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty winds in 15 districts of Odisha today.

The districts that have been put on alert are Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput,Malkangiri, Angul Angul,Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha and Boudh.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Baragarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khurda and Boudh between 1615 hrs and 2015 hrs,” said the release issued by the Met department.
