Thunderstorm likely in several Odisha districts during Raja festival

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm is likely to bring relief from heatwave and high humidity in Odisha during upcoming Raja festival.

Except two western districts in Odisha, the residents of other regions may heave sigh of relief from scorching summer and humid conditions from tomorrow onwards.

According to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh and Sonepur tomorrow.

Meanwhile, thunderstorm may lash several places including west, interior, coastal and southern parts of the state during next five days.

The MeT has issued thunderstorm warning (yellow) for several places till July 15.

Thunderstorm warning:

June 11: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

June 12: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj,

June 13: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Balangir, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj,

June 14: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

June 15: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.
