Thunderstorm likely in these Odisha dists today; Heat wave to continue

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning by the morning of tomorrow, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Keonjhar and Angul, the Meteorological Centre predicted.

On the other hand, the heat wave condition is likely to prevail across Odisha.

“No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha and it is likely to be around 42 degree Celsius at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha during the next 5 days,” the Meteorological Centre added.
