Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation, a thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in 18 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre issued Yellow Warning for next two days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Southwest monsoon has been subdued over Odisha. The cyclonic circulation over northeast Bihar and its neighbourhood now lies over northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining northwest Bihar and extends up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level.”

The highest maximum temperature of 36.0oC and the lowest minimum temperature of 22.0oC was recorded at Balasore in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.08.2023)

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh.
