Thunderstorm with lightning very likely in 18 Odisha districts on August 22; check details

Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a low pressure area, Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in 18 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Guna, Sidhi, Dehri, Balurghat and thence eastwards to Nagaland and extends up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 34.5oC was recorded at Chandbali and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 21.4oC was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balasore, Gajapati and Ganjam.

Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati and Ganjam.
