Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a cyclonic circulation, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in 15 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre issued Yellow Warning for next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Southwest monsoon has been subdued over Odisha. The trough from east Bihar to northwest Bay of Bengal now runs from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to northwest Bay of Bengal across West Bengal and extends up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level. The cyclonic circulation over northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining northwest Bihar at 3.1 Km above mean sea level has become less marked.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha. The highest maximum temperature of 36.9oC was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0oC was recorded at Boudh in the plains of Odisha.

Also, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the districts of Keonjhar Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
