Thunderstorm with lightning very likely in these Odisha districts on September 18; check details
Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a well marked low pressure area, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over 18 districts of Odisha during next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued Yellow Warning for the next five days.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre said, “Low pressure area over the monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, centre of low southeast Rajasthan and adjoining west Madhya Pradesh, Sagar, Daltonganj, Jamshedpur, Digha and thence eastsoutheastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.”
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north Odisha and south Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.
The highest maximum (day) temperature of 33.8oC was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.2oC was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Keonjhar.
