Days after a tiger mauled a 4-year-old boy to death at Haladi village under Khariar Road Forest Range in Odisha’s Nuapada district, the big cat scare gripped the locality once again today as locals spotted a leopard roaming near a temple in the area this morning.

On being informed, Forest officials reached the spot and kept a watch on the animal’s movement, sources said.

It may be recalled here that Chhaganlala, son of Hiralal Pandey of the village, was dragged by a leopard into a nearby forest on the night of May 26 while he was sleeping beside his parents on the verandah of the house.

His body was found from the forest next morning in a mutilated condition.
