Bhubaneswar: With a few days left for the by-polls in Odisha, DGPÂ Abhay today reviewed security arrangements for the election to the Tirtol Assembly Constituency.
In Tirtol, total 21 platoons of police force will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the by-election . Besides, three companies of Central Armed Force (CAF) and over 150 officials will be engaged.
"Security arrangements for the by-poll is satisfactory. Polling will be held in a peaceful way," said the DGP.
Additional Director General (ADG) Jaswant Jethwa was also present in the review meeting.
Polling for by-polls to both Tirtol and Balaosore Assembly segments will be held on November 3 while counting of votes will take place on November 10. The election will be completed by November 12.
It is pertinent to mention here that by-election to the two Assembly seats was necessitated after demise of former Balasore MLA Madan Mohan Dutta and Tirtol ex-MLA Bishnu Charan Das.
