TikTok video row: Use of mobile phones restricted inside Malkangiri hosp

Malkangiri: Several days after TikTok videos featuring some nurses inside the Sick and Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of District Headquarters Hospital in Odisha’s Malkangiri surfaced, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) today restricted use of mobile phones in the hospital.

CDMO Ajit Kumar Mohanty restricted entry of mobile phones into sensitive and critical care units of the DHH like ICU, SNCU, OT and labour room.

TikTok videos of women attendants surface in Odisha

The concerned nurses– Ruby Ray, Tapasi Biswas, Swapna Bala and Nandini Ray– were earlier served show cause notices by the CDMO for medical negligence and recording TikTok videos inside the SNCU. In the videos, the nurses were seen frolicking inside the SNCU. One of them was seen cradling a baby.
