Timber smuggling racket busted in Odisha; 3 Sal wood-laden vehicles seized

Jajpur: Odisha forest officials busted an illegal timber racket with seizure of three Sal wood-laden vehicles under Badachana police limits here this morning.

According to reports, the Sal woods worth lakhs were being illegally transported on thee vehicles including an SUV from Jharkhand to Bhubaneswar.

Acting on a tip-off a team of forest officials stopped the vehicles near Kundal Chhak on NH 16 under Badachana police limits and recovered the Sal woods allegedly being smuggled to Bhubaneswar from Jharkhand.

However, the accused persons managed to flee from the spot.
