Time interval for Covishield 2nd dose revised again; check details
New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The time interval between two doses of Covishield vaccine has further been increased to 12-16 weeks from 6-8 weeks.
A decision to this effect has been taken based on recommendations given by COVID working group after an analysis of the emerging evidence, informed Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan today.

However, the gap between two doses of Covaxin has remained unchanged.
Earlier, the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) had recommended the Centre for increasing the gap between two doses of Covishield to 12-16 weeks.

The panel had also recommended that pregnant women may be offered choice to take any COVID-19 vaccine while lactating women should be made eligible for jabs any time after delivery. It further recommended that those testing positive for the virus should defer vaccination for six months after recovery.
