The protest came just two days after the waterlogging caused by hour-long heavy rain in front of ISKON temple on Saturday created incontinences to lakhs of commuters travelling on the busy route in Bhubaneswar. The cars were found floating on the water and the commuters were stranded in the area for hours due to waterlogging.

Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena criticised the NHAI for the situation for which people faced incontinences in the city.

Despite repeated letters requesting the NHAI to resolve the issue, which is occurring every year during monsoon, the latter did not take any step to deal with the waterlogging problem in the city, Jena had told media reporters.
