TMC MP Tapas Paul sent to judicial custody in Odisha

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Paul arrested by the CBI for his alleged complicity in the Rose Valley chit fund scam was sent to jail after his second three-day remand period ended today.

The Central investigating agency produced Paul before the Special CBI Court here after the end of his remand.

The Court sent the TMC lawmaker to the Jharpada Special Jail here on judicial remand till January 19, sources revealed.

The Court today kept its verdict reserved after conducting a hearing on Paul’s bail plea, the sources further added.

According to CBI sources, Paul is said to have spilled out several crucial facts during his interrogation.

The central investigating agency has come across clinching evidence of Rose Valley having funded Europe trips of now arrested second TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay, the sources added.
