The SDJM Court, Baliguda had on Monday directed Kandhamal SP to produce Panda before it on August 13. There are more than 21 cases pending against the Maoist leader in different police stations in Kandhamal district. Sabyasachi was to be produced before the SDJM court at Baliguda in connection with five of them, including that of the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati.

There were allegations that Sabyasachi masterminded the attack on the premises of Sanskrit Kanyashram at Jalespata in which Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, Kishore Baba, Mata Bhaktamayee, Amrutanandji and Puranjan Gantayat were gunned down.

A case was registered vide no. 37/08 at the Tumudibandh police station in this connection based on a complaint by Brahmachari Madhab Chaitanya. Brahmachari had mentioned Sabyasachi Panda’s name in the complaint.
