Toshali Crafts Mela to kick off in Odisha capital on Dec 15

Bhubaneswar: The 18th edition of Toshali National Crafts Mela is all set to kick off in Odisha capital here on December 15.

The crafts fair will continue till December 26 at Janata Maidan in the city.

The Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department of Odisha, in association with the Union Ministry of Textiles, will organize the crafts fair. People can visit the fair from 2.30 pm to 9.30 pm, said an official.

The state government has been organizing Toshali Crafts Fair in the capital city here for the last several years to promote Odisha’s handlooms and handicraft products.

Hundreds of artisans from several states in India open their stalls at the fair and display wide range of products.

The fair offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of Odisha with its vast range of traditional arts, crafts, music, dance and cuisine.

“The fair is a perfect platform to showcase Odisha’s traditional handicrafts including textiles, pottery and jewellery made by local artisans. Besides, the visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy folk dances and music at the fair. They can also get several varieties of savouries from the food stalls,” said the official.
