Tractor driver killed after tyre bursts in Puri

Puri: In an unfortunate incident, a tractor driver died after tyre reportedly burst at Atharanala in Puri town today.

The deceased has been identified as Akshay Jena of Krupasagar Patna village under Puri Sadar police limits.

According to reports, Akshay came to a garage with his tractor at Atharanala for tyre pressure in the morning. While putting air into wheel, it suddenly burst.

Source said that the impact was so severe that the tractor driver shot up around 15 feet high. He sustained critical injuries to his head and died on the spot.

The police sent the body to Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for post-mortem.
