Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has imposed restrictions on traffic movement for state-level Independence Day celebration in the Odisha capital here.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will hoist the National Flag and take salute at the celebration at Unit-3 Exhibition Ground here on August 15.

As per the order issued by the Commissionerate Police:

  1. No vehicle shall be allowed to ply in between MBS blocking-St. Joseph lane blocking stretch of Ram Mandir-Housing Board Square road from 6.30 am onwards till the parade is over on August 15.
  2. Vehicles coming from Housing Board side intending to go towards Ram Mandir will be allowed up to MBS lane blocking at Housing Board Square where they will be diverted towards Kendriya Vidyalaya lane. Similarly, vehicles coming from Ram Mandir Square intending to go towards Housing Board Square will be allowed up to St. Joseph lane where they will be diverted towards Kendriya Vidyalaya lane exiting out at MBS lane blocking near Housing Board Square.
  3. There will be a blocking at Hotel Charlie lane where vehicles coming from PMG and Keshari Talkies side will be diverted towards Sachivalaya Marg. There will be blocking at lanes exiting out at Gate No. I and II emerging from Sachivalaya Marg.
  4. Lanes emerging from Kendriya Vidyalaya lane exiting out at Housing Board-Ram Mandir road will be blocked and there will be no vehicular movement on MBS blocking-St. Joseph lane blocking stretch.

There will be designated parking places for vehicles on the occasion.

  1. VVIP parking at right flank of Gate no. I
  2. VIP parking at left plank of Gate No. II and right flank of Gate No. III.
  3. Media parking at left flank of Gate No. V.
  4. General/invitees parking at left flank of Gate No. V
  5. Participating contingents parking at MBS blocking-St. Joseph lane blocking stretch on Housing Board-Ram Mandir Road.
