Tragic! 2-month-old baby killed in wall collapse in Odisha

Angul: In a tragic incident, a woman lost her two-month-old baby when a wall of her house collapsed due to incessant rain here this morning.

The incident took place late on Wednesday night when five members of a family were sleeping in their house at Helei village in Kiakata panchayat under Athamallick block.

According to reports, Sushil Hati, a resident of the village, along with family including wife and three children was sleeping in his house at night. Due to heavy rain, one portion of house wall collapsed following which Sushil’s wife Pushpanjali Hati, who was sleeping with her two kids, sustained grievous injuries. However, Sushil and one of his children were saved in the incident.

The injured three persons were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Boudh where the two-month-old baby was declared dead. Sushil’s wife and his three-year-old daughter are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
