Tragic: Lightning claims lives of 3 women in Odisha village

Balangir: Tragedy struck Badatelenpali village under Sadar block in Balangir district after three women were charted to death and an 18-year-old girl suffered injuries in lightning while working in a farmland today.

The deceased have been identified as Bilasini Rout, Yashobanti Sabar and Premanandi Dharua.

3 dead in separate incidents of lightning strike in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Sources said 18 people, including women were engaged in the paddy field of one Chabina Dharua this afternoon when lightning struck them killing Bilasini on the spot. The two other women and 18-year-old Seema Dharua were rush to Bhimobhoi Medical College and Hospital for treatment. However doctors at the hospital declared the two women dead.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased have demanded compensation for the loss.
